Hello everyone! My name is Isaac Galliher. I live in Paducah, Kentucky and I'm a 17 year old senior in high school. I was recently accepted into the A Cappella Academy Summer Program at Mount St. Mary University in Los Angeles, CA. Its a huge honor to be accepted as they only take about 50-70 people from across the world. The program is a two week intensive that focuses on bettering musicianship and teaching students about the music industry. It was founded by some really amazing people like Avi Kaplin (of Pentatonix), Ben Bram (arranger for the Pitch Perfect movies), and Rob Dietz (arranger for the Sing-Off on NBC). These are people who I have looked up to for quite some time, to be able to work with them personally would mean the world to me.
The cost of attending is $2000 plus transportation to LA which has to be paid by March 20. Now, I'm not expecting to raise that much money cause thats crazy. A Cappella Academy does have an awesome scholarship fund in which they draw from to help students out with whatever is left after their fundraising which is amazing. Obviously I don't have $2,000 sitting around, and yes, I know that I will find a way to pay for it whether I get a scholarship or not. However, I know some other people don't know for sure if they can come up with that money or not. I would love to give my scholarship money to another student so that more students are able to attend this awesome program. Raising the money to pay for my expenses means that someone else in that need of the scholarship fund money can rest assured that they, just like me, can follow their dreams of making music.
