Send Fernanda+Stella to Kamloops

This GoFundMe is to support Stella and Fernanda, two SFU women's players, in their costs to attend the U19 7's tournament in Kamloops for the weekend of October 19-21st. It is these additional experiences that mold young players into competitive and high level players. In addition, BC rugby will be watching for stand out players at this tournament.
Stella:
I started playing rugby in 2014 at the beginning of high school. It became a hobby, and soon a passion. I have been committed to developing my skills in the sport by continuously working hard with the help of other talented players and dedicated coaches. Rugby has offered me the opportunity to learn team work, leadership skills, and the drive to grow as an individual.
This 7’s tournament will give me the opportunity to further develop as a player and learn valuable skills. However, it comes with a cost. Currently, I am a full time student at Simon Fraser University - studying cognitive sciences. To pay for my tuition I have been working part time as well, all while playing rugby and attending every Tuesday/Thursday practice and games. With the mounting costs of tuition and textbooks, and my limited hours at work, I am struggling to pay for this trip.
I am absolutely grateful for this opportunity to be able to participate in playing 7’s and would love to go on the trip. If you would like to help, anything helps! Thank you so much for supporting me through my passion!
Fernanda:
My rugby career began in 2014 when I was in grade 8. Over my five years of high school I fell in love with the sport and had the opportunity to become captain of my team for two years. This year I graduated and was questioning myself if I will be able to continue the sport I love and balance school while not working to focus on my education. I wanted to play with SFU Rugby because I couldn’t give up the sport already after working so hard at it, but it’s been a struggle to keep up with fees for the season plus tournaments. I believe that all the support from my family, coaches and fellow teammates, made me want to push myself to be better and show them what I can do with rugby. Even if I don’t go pro in my rugby career, I’m just glad to be a part of such an amazing community and meet so many great people who have the same passion.
Paying for my tuition in the digital media program at SFU is worrying me about being able to afford this Kamloops tournament as I am trying to put the money in my savings in priority for school and eventually car insurance. Thank you so much for supporting my passion and helping us open more opportunity to playing and learning the sport of rugby.
