About 6 and a half years ago I worked with Chris in a special education classroom, at Mariner High School, in Everrett Washington. Chris has Autism. He was diagnosed with it at the age of 3 or 4.
Chris is very unique and loving person. About 6 years ago I wore a bunny costume in Chris' special ed class. What followed was something spectacular. Chris followed me around with so much joy and love, with his affectionate hugs and smiles. What a gift it was to see his fully self-expressed love. Shortly after, I met his mom at the school. I mentioned about the possibility of getting Chris to Disneyland. He has never been. Even then, I had an idea of just how special it might be to get Chris to the place where he could meet some of his favorite characters, such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, etc. At school, when he wasn't working, a lot of Chris' free time was spent watching cartoons online or kid like videos, some of which included a magnitude of disney characters.
Anyone who experiences that much joy in the world has to go to a place where their full potential of love can surface. For Chris, that place is Disneyland. To really get what I'm talking about, watch the Send Chris to Disneyland video. Just see how much love he has towards meeting a person in a bunny costume. How beautiful is it to see another human being respond with such love and affection. What a gift.
Let's send Chris to Disneyland and give the best trip possible. Let's give Chris the opportunity to meet his favorite characters and have a bunch of Disneyland adventures. I invite everyone out there to donate to the send Chris to Disneyland Fund.
Not only is the goal to send Chris to Disneyland, I, Hoopsmiles (the man in the video with Chris), want to go down to Disneyland to caputure Chris' trip on video. Seeing Chris' love is a great gift and joy. I want to capture his love on film and share it with the world. I feel like Chris' joy is so profound that it could make a huge difference in the world if shared.
What will the funds be spent on and who?
Depending on how much money we raise, the goal is to send at least 5 adults down to Disneyland. First and for most, Chris is one of those people, along with 2 others to accompany Chris on his trip (one of the 2 will be Chris' mom Elizabeth), along with myself and fellow cameraman to capture Chris' adventure on film. We are hoping to stay at the Disneyland resort Hotel on the Disneyland property for at least 3 nights. Because of Chris' disability, this hotel would be the best place to stay to avoid too many crowds, along with being the most accessible to the Disney characters that Chris loves. The funds would also cover round trip airfare, food, tranportation, Disney character dining experiences, where chris can personally meet multiple disney Characters, along with other miscallaneous costs and/or filming supplies, etc.
What will this mean for Chris and the world?
Just to see the reaction on his face would be priceless to see him interact with Disney characters and the fun he will have. His loving self expression can change the world, which we hope to share for all to see.

Some of the greatest moments in my life were spent with some of those students. I dedicate the Send Chris To Disneyland video to every special ed student I have ever worked with, along with every special ed student across the world. I also dedicate the video to every teacher, volunteer, and advocate for people with disabilities. What a gift it is to have you in the world. To honor a person’s love and joy is a victory for all.
