For those of you looking for the nutshell version, we're raising money by offering membership to our Send Cake! VIP club to enable us to exhibit at a corporate event in London in February next year. This will open the doors to a much wider market for us, one that is much more challenging to access without taking part in such events. As a small business, other methods of funding just aren't a viable option for us right now. Membership costs just £25, which will get you a box of 9 of our delicious bakes (which will be delivered after this campaign ends) and also a VIP card which opens the doors to a 10% discount off all online orders for the whole of 2019! There will also be some other members benefits along the way. So if you'd like to back our growing business, please make your £25 donation (membership payment) and be sure to leave us your contact details so we can set your membership up. Lets start by telling you a little about what we do. Send Cake! is a mail order cake delivery business. We deliver gift boxes of home made, freshly baked cakes for people who want to show that they care. We get a little bit giddy in fact about the importance of building, strengthening and celebrating relationships, and think that sending cake is the perfect way to do just that. From birthdays and new babies to team achievements and winning new clients, we work for individuals and businesses alike to mark important occasions in an authentic, personal and unforgettable way.
We launched in May 2017 and it's been a great first year! We were bursary winners at the Ludlow Food Festival and have been shortlisted for the BBC Good Food Show Bursary Award (fingers crossed we'll make it through the next phase for this!) as well as being finalists in our local business awards last Autumn. We've sent cake for so many people and for so many reasons - we simply love the fact that we're able to surprise and delight people with our super tasty treats.
So why are we crowd funding? We've built our business around our young family, and with our first born about to head off to primary school it now feels like the right time to step things up a little. We've been sending cake for quite a few businesses recently with great success and this is something we'd really like to work more on. We're on a mission to break the mould of traditional corporate gifting - you know, the mass produced (and over-priced), impersonal, tastes-like-s*** but it's got a posh label kind of stuff? We've researched and found the perfect setting to start this journey, at a corporate expo in London next year, but as with most things like this, it's got a hefty price ticket for a small business to fund.
So here's the deal...we're looking to make 100 lucky people Send Cake! VIPs. "What does that mean?!!", we hear you cry! Well, for a £25 membership fee, you will receive a box of 9 of our delicious bakes (which will be posted after this campaign ends) PLUS a VIP card which will award you with a 10% discount on every order you place through our website, FOR THE WHOLE OF 2019. And there will likely be a few other treats and surprises along the way too.
We think that's a pretty awesome deal, and it will help us immeasurably to take our business up a MEGA notch - all from a little kitchen in Herefordshire, not bad huh?!! So, if you want to be part of that special 100, pop your £25 in to the pot and then we need you to do one other really important thing.
