Collin has endured more in his 12 1/2 years than most people endure in a lifetime. At age 2 1/2, Collin was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. After 3 1/2 years of treatment, his leukemia went into remission. Unfortunately, the harsh side effects of his cancer treatment progressed into Lennox Gastaut Syndrome (LGS). LGS is a rare form of epilepsy that is extremely difficult to treat. Collin's parents Greg and Kathleen, have taken him throughout the United States searching for treatments. Collin has had two brain surgeries in Colorado, but unfortunately both were unsucessful. He continues to have multiple seizures daily, wears a helmet to protect his head when he falls during seizures, and uses a wheelchair on a regular basis. His mom Kathleen can no longer work full time because of Collin's immense needs. Collin's doctors have said there is nothing more they can do for him. Given this devastating news, his parents' goal is to give Collin the best quality of life possible. They have applied for a seizure service dog to assist Collin and to warn them when a seizure is coming. The cost of a seizure service dog, training, transportation, care etc. is well over $25,000. Anything you can donate to help defray this expense and get Collin the seizure service dog he so desperately needs, would be greatly appreciated.
