WHAT IS THE MESSAGE?

SEE. STOP. START. is a proactive approach to teach people three easy steps to show compassion and be inclusive. SEE people as people first rather than just seeing one trait (ability, race, religion, gender, political affiliation, sexual preference, etc). See what you have in common with others rather than what is different. STOP negative thoughts, words, and actions. Stop using labels in a derogatory way to belittle others for their differences. START having positive or at least neutral interaction with those who have perceived differences. Positive interactions are as simple as a smile or holding a door for someone. Being neutral is as easy as not posting a negative comment.

 

WHY IS THIS MESSAGE DIFFERENT?

Some messages address compassion and kindness by telling people what not to do like "Don't Bully" or "Don't Hate". Other messages address compassion by providing a general message like "Be Kind". What makes our message different is that SEE. STOP. START. provides easy, specific, proactive steps to showing compassion. We aren't asking anyone to change who they are or what they believe, but we are asking for people to keep these easy steps in mind when encountering someone who is perceived to be different than oneself.

 

WHERE DOES MY DONATION GO?

Your tax-deductible donation will help to fund supplies and videos associated with our elementary level curriculum that incorporates the SEE.STOP. START. message across four subjects. An additional education initiative is through speaking and presentations. Donations will help with materials and costs associated with delivering the message to entities with limited resources like schools and other nonprofit organizations.

Show Compassion Foundation, the beneficiary of this fundraiser, is the parent nonprofit that's sole mission is to fund SEE. STOP. STOP. initiatives. All donations go directly to support SEE. STOP. START.
