Scott Schinder - Medical Fundraiser
Our friend Scott Schinder is once again exploring the limits of modern medicine with another extended stay at Austin's St. Davids hospital South as of Sept. 17, 2018. He's expected to make a full recovery and is covered by medical insurance, but in the meantime he's at the mercy of his friends' generosity to help him get on his feet financially. Fortunately, his old GoFundMe page is still active, so please feel free to kick in a few bucks if you're so inclined.
Many of you know Scott from his music and popular culture writings for various publications in the U.S. and overseas, including Rolling Stone, Creem, Entertainment Weekly, Billboard, Time Out New York, Newsday, Stereophile, Musician, Tower Pulse, New Musical Express, Melody Maker and Texas Music Magazine. He's also written several music-related books and liner notes for numerous CD reissues and box sets and has contributed essays and other pieces to many other books, including all six editions of The Trouser Press Record Guide.
We hope you can join us in our effort to help Scott get well and remove some of the financial worries that come from yet another unexpected hospital stay.
Hi folks. Scott has been in recovery at home but has been going back and forth to the doctor several times since his surgery. He is not out of the weeds yet. If you can share this Gofundme link, that would be such a help. His medical bills continue to be of great concern. If you can, drop him a message on Facebook or email or better yet, call him. It all means a lot.
Jason Cohen and I are both wondering if you still have that Band of Susans shirt?
So wonderful, everyone. We can't thank you all enough. The music community coming together to take care of Scott means so much.
