Scott Von Lanken Memorial Fund
Scott worked as pastor in various churches, as a police officer, and as an RTD(Regional Transportation District) security officer in Denver. Scott started his career working as a police officer for the city of La Crosse in Wisconsin from 1978 until 1987. During his time as a police officer he met his wife of 35 years, Shellie who brought into this world 2 beautiful girls. Scott's love of humanity and passion to help people led him to leave his job as a police officer and turn toward the ministry becoming a pastor at various churches in Ohio, Colorado, and Arizona. Scott needed to earn more money to support his family and began working as a security officer on the RTD transit account. Scott was well respected among his coworkers as a leader, mentor, and confidant in their personal times of need.
With this devastating change to their family, his wife Shellie and his two daughters are left without their provider. This fund was set up for anybody having difficulties donating to the primary fund at the Rocky Mountain Law Enforcement Federal Credit Union.
Any donations made will be given to the family to help cover any expenses that they have during this sudden change in their lives.
On behalf of my sister, Shellie Von Lanken, I would like to say "Thank you" from the bottom of our hearts. This outpouring of love and support for Scott's family is making this unbelievable terrible time just a bit less scary. Shellie and Scott lived in Colorado because they absolutely loved it and they lived there without any family close by. So, Shellie has been going through this first few days all by herself. She told me after the police escort from Denver to the funeral home that she was so touched by all the support and love she was given. Thank you!!
