Mobility scooter repair for Susan

Donation protected
Last Friday (May 3rd) Susan's mobility scooter was disgustingly damaged by vandals, leaving it inoperable. The scooter's wheels and seat were slashed, a knife was jammed into the scooter's ignition so many times it was unable to start, and the handlebars were bent out of place.

Susan has myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), also known as chronic fatigue syndrome, making walking even short distances almost unbearable. As such, she doesn't have the capacity to use a walker or push a wheelchair to get places - her scooter is the only way she's able to get around.

Susan has reached out to Total Mobility, an assistive infrastructure supplier, for a quote to repair her mobility scooter, and the repair cost will be around $4,000. As such, we're starting with a fundraising goal of $4,000 to cover the repair cost. Susan doesn't have the capacity to cover this cost as 70% of her income is spent on rent.

Currently, Susan is also paying for a replacement rental scooter, although she doesn't feel safe using it and is having a hard time with these payments. Together, we can have Susan's mobility scooter fixed and we want this to happen as soon as possible. So let's try and raise these funds quick! Susan shouldn't have to deal with this cost herself on top of such a despicable act from heartless vandals.
