Scooter Removal

We need your help to keep our city safe and beautiful!

As you have probably noticed, our beloved city of San Diego has become overrun with scooters. These scooters have very rapidly become a hinderance, a liability, and an eye sore. Many of the scooter companies operate under a business model that has little regard for public safety, ADA laws, or private property. The real reason is that, most of the scooter companies do not truly care who they impose on while they make their money. As long as armies of electric scooters are allowed to charge people’s credit cards, most of the scooter companies could care less where they roam, or how they are operated. It is a “leave-it-anywhere,” “impose-on-everyone” philosophy of operating a business that unfortunately disrespects public safety and the private property rights of others.

But thankfully, two local guys started fighting back for our city. They obtained authorizations from property owners to remove unwanted scooters from private property. They cleaned up the scooter companies mess by removing thousands of scooters that were trespassing and dumped on private property. Afterwards, they notified the appropriate billion-dollar companies to come pick up their scooters, and pay a minimal fee for saving and safely storing their products. They then asked the companies to modify their apps to recognize the rights of property ownership, take back their product and stop allowing unwanted scooters on designated private property where “no trespassing” signs had been posted.

Instead of respecting the community, private property rights and public safety, several of the companies have refused to pay and instead threatened legal action against these two hard working samaritans.

They want to continue the fight and provide the free service to San Diego and beyond. They are looking for private citizens to step up and donate to their fund so they can expand their territory, finish their app to report scooters and respond appropriately in court if necessary.

ScootScoop was founded by Dan Borelli and John Heinkel when they saw a major problem in their beloved city, and nothing been done to solve it. They decided to do DO something about it!

Dan grew up in Palm Desert and has been a business owner for 15 years. 10 of those years he was a Property Manager, which allows him to really understand the grief caused for business owners and property managers with these scooters on their private property. Dan lives by the Golden Rule and he wears his heart on his sleeve.

John served our country as a Corporal in the United States Marines by meritorious advancement in the mechanized infantry. John served in Africa, Turkey and Panama. John has also been in the towing business since 1994, and understand the laws and regulations of towing unwanted property off of private property, which is how they created the system that they use for Scoot Scoop.

With their combined skills, background, and love for their city, these two men are making changes for the better and holding the companies accountable to be responsible and respectful to our city and it's residents.

If you have the means and desire to donate, know that it would be making a huge impact on the safety and appearance of the worlds finest city of San Diego and beyond.

We want is for these billion dollar companies to respect the laws, our rights, and keep our cities safe and beautiful. Change is in order.
