School Lunch Relief Program
From parents being charged with theft, children given meager offerings like a cheese sandwich and milk, lunches being thrown away in front of the child after learning of nonpayment, to the subsequent bullying of the child...
This is not acceptable. Our school systems are failing on many levels. And for our children to be distracted by hunger, and bullying is just a terrible thought, when they should be nurtured in every way while in school.
My name is Tegery Seetin. I am an United States Army Veteran with no children of my own, but consider our future generations just as precious. Every one of them.
Please consider a donation to help these families out as the school year draws to a close. The children have no choice in any finances, and you and I can help!
I am starting at $1000.00, and will donate at will to NE Kansas schools, starting in Jefferson County, as that is where I reside. I will then work outwardly to surrounding counties, as funding provides.
Thank you for your consideration.
USD 343 in Perry, and USD 340 in Meriden have accepted the donations by vote. USD 341 left it on the table, citing "the need for more information/clarification", per Mr. Pfau. That simply means that a closer look at this fundraiser will determine the eligibility of being voted on in June. As it misses my goal of ending the school year with the hope of getting out of the red, or near it, we must respect the board's decision.
That being said, there was concern throughout these districts. These concerns were aired in the form of given assurances that there is no such grievances occurring against the children within these districts, and the caution given towards the gofundme.com platform used to raise the money.
I, of course, believe in their legitimate concerns, as I respect all the board members involved. And, secondly, I wholeheartedly understand that there are is no child treated unfairly throughout these districts.
My stance is simply this- AWARENESS. Awareness, coupled with kindness, and generosity.
I see that in taking on this endeavor, that I may not have thought things through as thoroughly as I should have. But, I am not ashamed, nor will I quiet my feelings about our underfunded school systems here in Kansas, and throughout the nation. Furthermore, this is my first experience in doing such a thing, and I am very thrilled that it has come to this.
So, without delay, I will be very delighted to get the withdrawal process underway. As it stands, $860 will be transferred to my bank account, and once cleared, I will have 2 checks written. One in the amount of $400 dollars for 343, and the remaining $460 going to 340.
Now, I must be clear here, and explain that I was not aware that 3 different entities could not withdraw from the account directly as first intended. I learned of that just a few days ago, and have been in communication with specialists at the website, trying to find other avenues. Therefore the reason I have to withdraw into my account. And I give you all full assurances that there is not an ounce of foul play in me, and transparency in this is essential. (The great majority of you know me anyway.) I am keeping full records personally, and through this site.
I sincerely hope you all are satisfied with this outcome. There will be more updates in the near future. Until then, I thank you, and wish you all a great evening.
Collectively, WE have given a chance to end this school year on a positive note. WE have taken a burden off of not only some families in need, but, off of the faculty at each district. Budgets are tight. Government slashes at will..
Please dwell on the voting in of OUR contribution coming on the 8th of this month with love, and good will.
These 3 districts will be blessed, and I pray there will be more to come!
My best regards,
