Scholarship Fund for Catrice Jackson’s Race Talks Workshops
Catrice Jackson’s Race Talks for White Women two-day workshop is critical for every white woman who wishes to become safer for Black and brown people. We are raising funds to provide partial scholarships for white women who want to attend but may have a financial hardship.
It is our obligation to pay Black women for the value of their work, and we do not ask Catrice or any other Black woman for a discount. This fund has been created with Catrice’s permission by white women to provide partial scholarships for other white women who would like to attend her workshops. Catrice will still receive her full fee.
Here are the requirements for receiving a partial scholarship for a workshop:
1. Determine what you are able to pay.
The scholarships are granted on a sliding scale basis, and it is important to pay as much as you are able. In the past, white women who received full scholarships tended to be more racially violent and fragile during the workshops. We need to pay for our education and demonstrate a commitment to learning.
2. Show up for both days.
Scholarships are not available to white women who cannot participate both days for the full duration of the workshop.
3. Be accountable.
We are accountable to Catrice and every other woman of color attending these workshops. We listen, tell the truth, and stay for the entire workshop. This is not an easy experience looking into the mirror of white supremacy, but it is crucial to becoming safer for Black and brown people.
Please contact us by clicking the "Contact" link for the organizer to request a partial scholarship. All funds will be allocated with Catrice’s permission.
Donated seats are available to Black and brown women separately through the workshop website.
