Short Synopsis: Sierra, Megan and Darcy accept a challenge from Sierra’s mom, Mrs. Britt to complete a scavenger hunt in one day with no cell phones. The adventure starts out fun and easy, then it gets difficult and dangerous as the teens discover secrets from the past, fall into a hidden tunnel, and get chased by the police. Darcy wants to quit, but Sierra won’t quit because each clue brings her closer to the truth about her distant mother who wears an invisible shield around her heart and won’t talk about the past. The completion of the scavenger hunt reveals more than anyone expects. An escaped prisoner from over twenty years ago tries to kill Sierra and Mrs. Britt, the secret of stolen gems is revealed, a lost faith is restored, and the love of a father is discovered. The scavenger hunt is a life-changing adventure.
Long Synopsis:
In the day of social media and the obsession of cell phones with young teens, Sierra, Megan and Darcy are no different. All they want are two lazy weeks of summer with their cell phones before camp starts. Sierra’s mom, Mrs. Britt wants them to be more active and challenges them to complete an old scavenger hunt in a day with no cell phones. Megan hesitates at first in fear of social media withdrawals, but she comes around. Darcy does whatever Sierra wants to do. What the teens don’t know is the importance of the scavenger hunt for Mrs. Britt. It goes beyond them being active, because she has an undisclosed motive. If the teens complete the scavenger hunt they get their two lazy weeks, but for Sierra it’s much more than that. She is desperate to know who created the scavenger hunt and why it’s so important to her mother. It seems to bring a sense of joy to Mrs. Britt that Sierra has never seen before. There’s an entire childhood mystery about Mrs. Britt and for the first time Sierra hopes to find something to relate to. The teens accept the challenge and Sierra takes it very seriously. It’s a walking adventure that takes them to several locations throughout their small town. It starts out fun and easy, then it gets difficult and dangerous as the teens discover secrets from the past, fall into a hidden tunnel, and get chased by the police. The money raised will pay for the crew, materials, food and other expenses to make a great film. Due to lack of funding the movie has been postponed until summer 2018.
