SC Karate Soke Cup Team Fundraiser

In July, 13 members of Sunshine Coast Karate will travel to Canada to compete in the Soke Cup (Chito-Ryu World Championships).  This event brings together competitors from Chito-Ryu dojos around the world and our dojo has been represented at this event since 2001, winning top 3 places every time. 

At the last Soke Cup, our team came away with a swag of top 3 performances, including 4 world champions & 2 tournament champions at the last Soke Cup in Japan.

Each and every team member has had to commit enormous amounts of time to training and has shown the dedication required to be one of the best. 

Competing at this international event costs money. Our local association has committed to covering the cost of team uniforms and a portion of the entry fees for everyone, but even with this, all competitors are mostly self funded: paying for their flights, accomodation, the majority of the entry fees and other costs, being several thousand dollars each.

The Sunshine Coast branch of the International Chito-Ryu Karate-Do Federation of Australia has started this gofundme page to help ALL local competitors recoup some of their costs. Donations will be pooled and spilt equally amongst the Soke Cup team members to help with costs of competing.
