For Slade: Help a Hero

Donation protected
On Monday, April 13, 2015, U.S. Army veteran and Atlanta Metro area Firefighter Tavaris Slade sustained critical medical injuries after the fire engine he was in hit a tree while responding to an emergency call [Video news stories here and here ].

He spent several days in ICU, where he was treated for multiple fractures. These injuries will require Slade – a soon-to-be husband and dedicated father of a 10 year-old son – to take a leave of absence from work for nearly a year to heal.

During his recovery, there will be a number of expenses not covered by disability income that Slade and his family will encounter. A fund has been set up to address these needs, and we urgently ask for your help in spreading the word about it.

Your Donation Will Help:

* Support day-to-day home and financial expenses not covered by disability income

* Cover summer camp and school supply obligations for Slade’s 10-year-old son

* Ensure unexpected living costs are accounted for

Any amount you give is sincerely appreciated! Your prayers are also welcomed.

Slade has supported the community for nearly a decade as a firefighter. Let’s support him during this time of need. Donate today!
