SAVING A Mother from CANCER

The angelic person in this photo is my dearest mother and I would give anything to have her back as the healthy woman she was last year this time.
She is truly the only family member I have in the entire world, if she dies I die with her.
She is the sound of my heart,
The breath I take,
The light of my eyes,
The reason for my living.
She is my mother, the only woman I haver loved and the reason for being who I am.
I love her more than the life itself and I will die for her gladly any day of the week if I must to keep her safe as she would have when I was a child and in need.
I only had the chance to meet my mother every few years since I left Iran in Sept of 1995. Between the last time I had seen her in Dubai and last year and last year there was eight years gap. To repay her tears I took her to Turkey for a month also took her to doctors, making sure was completely healthy before letting her go back home.
As soon as she returned home, started coughing and finally I had to come back to UAE through great deal of difficulty to make sure I find out why my mother was so ill. This times wasn’t several years but rather less than a year after our last meeting. I arrived in Abu Dhabi on March 08, 2016 to care for my mother and brought her to UAE on March 15th, which was no easy task considering the turmoil between Saudi and Iran.
As I have always indicated, governments do and people pay, and my mother is no exception to that rule. Her trip to UAE was delayed by a month because she had to be checked for security reasons! We are talking about a 78-year-old, incredibly unwell woman who can’t go to bathroom without help, yet she had to go through a month-long security and terrorism check list before being cleared for her flight.
I was overjoyed when she finally arrived in UAE, and although I knew she was ill, I had no understanding of the depth of her disease until we went to the Emergency Hospital.
Just like many of you, cancer has touched my family in the past by taking my uncle and now it wants to steal my angelic mother from me. I am here to ask you to please help me to get her the necessary funds to transfer my very kind and full-of-life mother, who everyone loves and who has done right by everyone in her life, so she continues to live among us and touch our hearts. She has no one to care for except me, and I have no one except her, in my life.
Here is how my mother’s journey battling cancer started. We visited the pulmonologist at the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi on March18th, 2016 where she received a date for an upcoming endoscopy biopsy.
I took her back to the Emergency room on March 22, around 9.30 pm because she was vomiting but had not eaten anything for three days.
During this the Emergency doctor told me that my mother’s mass on the right side of her lung was in fact cancer, something that I had been dreading to hear! Now we had to figure out how far it spread.
That night my mother was given ten morphine shots but the pain wouldn’t stop or subside. Eventually she fell asleep, but only for a short time before waking up in extreme pain. My mother was admitted to hospital at 4 am.
While the disease had progressed to her bones, it was the small brain legions that caused her the most trouble for food intake and severe vomiting, along with constant nausea.
As Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi not having any cancer treatment center or an oncologist my mum was sent to another center called Gulf Cancer Center, which thankfully was able to stop the brain lesions through targeted but very expensive radiation therapy.
It seems that money has no meaning in UAE, sadly for those of us who are trapped by the unexpected events of life, we are in such disarray it’s unbelievable. As soon as people hear you are American or Canadian they assume you must be vacuuming money from the streets of America and everything become 4 to 5 times more expensive.
The energy therapy that should have only been a few hundred DHMs became a few thousands dollars and that is just one item on my list of what had to be paid for over 10,000.00 DHM
The reason it took me so long to do things isn’t lack of hard work. She wasn’t able to keep any food down for so long and that’s was the main concern to make her stable for travels. She has a set appointment to go to MD Anderson in TX for June 10th so they can give her a quality of life and a chance at beating the cancer ASAP.
The MD Anderson letter of invite is ready but I am in need of a few logistics, funds are the most important logistic to show to the visa officer that I have enough funds to cover the basics of her travels including a business class seat so she can sleep during the 14-hour flights.
While everything is nearly ready I am completely out of funds, even for small things…
I am afraid to fail for obtaining her visa and as a result loose her to death.
In the monetary world we live in, we are no more impotent than the bank accounts we hold. The person who is going to hold her life in his or her hand doesn’t care if the woman in this photo is one of the kindest people ever walked the earth. They are going to look at my pocket book and right now I have run out of all funds to show off… or even to get her ticket to USA.
Please don’t judge me too harshly even if you decide not to help. I want you to know this is the first time I have ever posted a personal request to people for lending me money, but I doing this only because trying to save my mother’s life.
While I arrived to Abu Dhabi I prepared for a month-long trip I am now in my third month here and I am running out of all funds, but I still need to get her to USA. In USA MD Anderson hospital she will receive chemo and targeted radiation and later surgery. And while her insurance will cover all the cost of the hospital, I still have to prove that I can get her from UAE to USA making sure she is not a burden on the tax payers.
If you CANNOT give please spread the message so I can receive the funds needed and as fast as possible and get her to USA ASAP. My mother’s medical appointment is set at MD Anderson for June 10th, 2016. I am out of all my funds ands being in UAE is not a vacation to me, it is a place I need to leave in order to get my mother the help she needs. If you are willing and able please help me save her life, in the honor of your parents or those you always wanted to save.
