Saving Grace

Friends, I’m asking for your help. My wife, Luna Grace Shivers has been in the hospital since last Friday before Memorial Day. There have been many tests, and we’re waiting for definitive diagnosis- for now, there appear to be challenges for her heart and endocrine system, perhaps a due to a bacteria found in her blood. All the symptoms add up to making it difficult for her to walk, eat and care for herself.We pray for answers today, in the meantime, we your help. Here’s a snapshot of the impact this is having on our family, and why we’re needing help now:We have to make modifications to our home in order for her to come home, as she can no longer safely go up and down the stairs to our bedroom. If you’ve got a couple of hands to help move our bedroom, organize clothes, help me build a wall, install handicap supports in the bathroom, and even cook food we need you!I’m unable to work much now, as she needs care until we can get a diagnosis that (to the insurance company) warrants someone at home with her. So, anyone available for an hour or so to come sit with her while I take a client or two, that would be so appreciated.Lastly, we need, well, money. She’s been unable to work full time for several years, and we’ve been barely scraping by. Now though, we’re in real danger of losing our home and everything we have. Once we have a diagnosis, she’ll be able to get disability, and that will take time. In the meantime, we’ve set up an Airbnb and selling everything we can live without to help pay bills. So, if you know anyone who needs a cool place to relax in LR, or who’s buying a new place and needs furnishings & housewares, please consider sending them our way.She’s proud, you know, and doesn’t like to ask for help. We’re here now though, where there’s no option but to reach out to the community we so cherish and ask for your prayers, your support, and your love.
