Save A Life Canada Animal Rescue Society is a registered and incorporated nonprofit animal welfare and rescue organization located in Nova Scotia, Canada. We travel all over Canada and the United States from Nova Scotia to rescue dogs from high kill shelters, sometimes traveling over 1,200 miles each month.

We have been able to save 600+ dogs from euthanasia since we've began our global rescue transports. There is a good chance that we have helped in your local area before; from New Brunswick, Ontario, Quebec, Texas, California, and to Korea.

We travel to aid other rescues and shelters, and to help save the dogs who need us the most, that are overlooked by others in shelters. Our rescue is strictly foster based, so all of our dogs remain with loving family homes until healed, rehabilitated, and ready to find a forever home of their own.

Our goal is to help wherever we can. We have been blessed to manage and fund over 40 life saving rescues and transports to date. Saving mostly chihuahuas, pit bulls, seniors, and special needs. The most euthanized in our world today. From blind dogs, amputees, tripods and two legged dogs, major skin and organ issues, to deaf and immobile; we have helped them all and hope you can help us continue to save the most at risk.

This summer, we hope to save more dogs from high kill shelters and abandonment. From local dogs, to global dogs, there are so many that need us. This fundraiser will help 100 dogs receive a freedom ride into rescue, medical care, a foster home, and a forever home. We will be making consistent updates on the dogs we save and upcoming transports through GoFundMe and on our Facebook page.

Each transport holds 30-40 dogs and averages around $5000. This includes general medical care for all of the dogs before they come into our care and their travel crate costs. For every dollar you donate you are helping to provide one of our dogs with a home and a vital second chance.  Please help us fund our first transport by July 1st.

We understand that it is not always possible to donate, but right now even a share can help a mile. If everyone who reads this today could share and spare just $5 we will be back on the road again saving lives in no time.

Please continue to follow this journey with us and visit our website if interested in fostering and to see more about who we are and what we do; https://www.salcars.ca

Thank you so much for being a voice for the voiceless.

Meet Joon. She is one of the 33 dogs waiting for a freedom ride out of the overcrowded shelters of Texas. Joon found herself inside of a kill shelter after being seized from a hoarding case, where over 70 other dogs were held, including her brother. Unfortunately, her brother did not make it out of the shelter. He was euthanized before we even knew she needed our help. He did not come around as fast as Joon did and they needed his spot for another abandoned dog. Our hearts are so sore for Joon. Look at her piercing, beautiful blue eyes. We have to help her. Time is running out and we still need to raise $2000 before Friday to help Joon, Little Foot, and 31 of their friends. We understand that it is not always possible to donate, but even a share can help save these dogs. Please help us save 100 dogs from shelters this summer. We cannot do it without you.

It is ride or die. And you can save them. Meet Little Foot. He is just 4 months old and has suffered so much pain already in his short life. He was brought to an overcrowded shelter by animal control after he was found abandoned and neglected at 6 weeks old, with a very horrific injury. His foot was hanging off by a thread and had to be amputated. We don't know how the injury occurred, but he wants to live his best life now and we want to help him and his friends. With 15 dogs already brought into care this month, there are another 33 dogs in overcrowded shelters, who need out right now. Many of these dogs have no rescue, no safe place, and their time is running out. These shelters are open-admission. This means that they have to euthanize daily to make space for more abandoned pets. Help us save 100 shelter dogs this summer. We need to raise $2,500 by this Friday to transport all of these dogs into rescue immediately. A total of 15 dogs do not have transport sponsors and we cannot save them without you. Every donation over $40 will receive a limited edition rescue calendar until supplies run out. We understand that it is not always possible to donate, but even a share can help save these dogs. Every action counts right now.

We did it again Canada! Look who is here, safe and sound, and excited to begin a brand new life! This is what freedom looks like. Look at that smile! This is little Willy, one of the 6 Texas dogs that arrived into rescue today; part of operation save 100 dogs from the shelters this summer. There are 5 more dogs coming to us on Monday from an overcrowded California shelter. We've also had a couple local surrenders come into care this month and always have our doors open for those in need of help in our local communities. It is our dream to clear the shelters, to the point where no animal will suffer or be euthanized just to make more space. We can be a part of the solution and we invite you to join us this summer on our mission to save 100 dogs from overcrowded kill shelters. We are still $3500 away from covering the cost of July's first rescue transport, where 30-40 dogs will be saved from the shelters and brought safely into our care here at the rescue. Please consider a small donation this month to help us save the most at risk. We understand that it is not always possible to donate, but even a share can help save a life today. Every action counts and every dollar helps!
