You learn a lot while travelling. One thing being, waking up in a jungle is different each and every time, sometimes you wake to the buzz of a mosquito, the roar of a howler monkey, a sweat drenched bed from the inescapable heat or... in this case, a 6 month old, tick ridden Belgian Shepherd... Who we later named Taz.

It didn't take long for us come to the conclusion that we cannot walk away from this pup without doing what ever we can to save his life.

We took Taz under our collective wing.

Starting with giving him a hearty breakfast and removing around 60 ticks from his emaciated body we jumped on a bus and headed straight for the nearest town to seek out a vet.

So far we have covered all the medical costs for our newly adopted pup, this includes:

Vet Consultation
Blood Tests
Tick Born Disease Tests
Medication for the diseases he's picked up from being abandoned in the jungle
Vitamin Boosters
Worming Treatment
Flea Treatment

As well as this we've invested in a travel crate for Taz and the other essentials: food, collar, lead, the odd treat.

Once Taz is fighting fit again we'll be sending him for the snip to prevent more of the same situation!

This is were you can come in...

As you know, its expensive having a dog, especially a sick one, combining this with our traveller budget(s) we need your help covering these building costs.

Taz is absolutely amazing, even in his current state he is still such a happy boy. We cannot wait to show you how he progresses from his current state to a strong healthy and even happier dog.

Your donations will go directly towards medicines, treatments and his inevitable neutering.

Thank you so much for your support!!!

Andy, Joe & Taz :)

Hey guys!!

Sorry for the rubbish admin keeping on our part, Mexico has been a whirlwind and 3 months of travelling around the country kept us busier then we expected!

Taz has loved getting around his own country and has covered sooo much ground and never moaned about it once, legend.

There have of course been a couple of hiccups for him/us along the way i.e. Taz got hit by a car, attacked by a dog and had his testicles removed all in the space of a week.. but he took it in his stride and we'll just assume that was a pretty character building week.

Now is the time when he has really come full circle, he's such a happy, dopey and loving dog. Has been completely fixed up with meds, check ups and hearty dinners.... and yesterday he passed the vets full health check and has been granted permission to fly!!! So onto the next chapter of his turn around... the snowy mountains of Canada!

A whole new challenge for the boy which we are sure he's going to love... what better play mates than bears and wolves?!

If you'd still like to contribute by all means please feel free, the boy is going to need a winter coat and boots ;-) ...and we're still tackling costs of the flight & new travel crate (as it has to be massive for the flight).. we appreciate every donation - size doesn't matter!

We'd like to both thank all of you so much for your help and support. Every penny donated has gone straight in to Taz's transformation and excessive vet bills from his frequent visits!

You are all amazing and should treat yourselves to a tub of ben and jerrys or something!

Stay legendary,

Joe, Andy & Taz.

Hey Guys!

It's now been 12 days since our jungle pup came in to our lives and the transformation in him has been incredible already!

Taz has been on a course of 7 tablets per day over the last 10 days to treat the numerous problems he had and from the first tablet it feels like he was improving... the swelling on a ganglion (what is that?) in his neck instantly reduced, antibiotics fought the blood infection he had from ticks and I'm not entirely sure what the other tablet did but he took them and now he's found his puppy bounce again!

The difference day to day has been crazy, some mornings we wake up and it seems he has gained weight over night, the morning cuddles are more and his walks are longer each and every day. He's found a new love for sticks and can often be found chilling in the shade at the front of our room chewing away at a branch he's found.

We are currently based on a tiny island just north of Cancun called Holbox.. and with this beachy paradise we've started to allow Taz the freedom to run free from his lead and also encouraged him to play in the sea!! He definitely wasn't a fan of the sea at first, but he's getting over that fear too!.. it's crazy the amount of happiness he now has and gives the pair of us. Transforming his life the way we are is honestly the most rewarding thing we've ever done and its only been 12 days.

The next adventure for Taz is a few days in Cancun where we plan to give him his 3rd vet visit.. This will hopefully cover as much as possible in the visit with:

Treatment for a suspected ear infection
Second round of vaccinations
Rabies shot
Passport/Travel docs

Thank you so much to everybody who has donated so far, we really really appreciate the help you are giving to Taz. Every amount big or small makes a difference for him.

We'll keep the updates coming with the pictures/vids so you can see his amazing progress!!

We will eventually be looking at flights for young Tazzy to get to England so please keep sharing his story!!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
