Saving my little brothers vision
Donation protected
In the past month my brother was diagnosed with a rare eye condition called keratoconus. “With keratoconus, the clear, dome-shaped tissue that covers the eye (cornea) thins and bulges outward into a cone shape. Its cause is unknown.
Symptoms first appear during puberty or the late teens and include blurred vision and sensitivity to light and glare. Advanced cases may require a cornea transplant.” My eighteen year old brother was told that his case was much more advanced and that he would need surgery to correct it or he would lose his sight permanently. My mom has been on an endless journey trying to find a cornea specialist who will perform the surgery and take our insurance but everyone she’s contacted has told us that the procedure will have to be paid out of pocket and a $5,000 surgery just isn’t in our budget right now. So anything will help, I just don’t want my little brother losing his vision when he has his whole life ahead of him. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and we appreciate any help ❤️
