Urgent: Help Rescue Greece’s Neglected Stray Cats
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
We are reaching out with an urgent plea to help the forgotten stray cats of Halkidiki.
These beautiful, innocent creatures endure harsh conditions, scavenging for food in bins and eating scraps to survive.
There are no feeding stations, no access to fresh water, and no neutering programs, creating a desperate situation far removed from the tourist hotspots. Most are injured, malnourished, and desperately need medical care and safe homes.

The Story of These Cats
These stray cats have faced an unimaginable and cruel existence. They are often seen rummaging through bins, trying to find anything edible. Some have severe injuries, like a black and white cat with a neck injury urgently needing medical attention.

Despite their tough exterior, these cats are loving and just want a chance to live a happy life.
During the summer, these cats survive on limited scraps from tourists.
However, as winter approaches and the tourist season ends, their situation becomes dire. Without extra food from tourists, many of these cats won’t survive the winter months.
Greece is not a third-world country, but there is a complete lack of responsibility and care from the government to help these cats, particularly in the main land areas like Halkidiki.

Why We Need Your Help
1. Medical Care and Preparation: Each cat needs to be neutered, vaccinated, and treated for any injuries or illnesses before they can travel. This includes getting a pet passport and ensuring they are healthy enough for their journey.
2. Transport Costs: The cost of safely transporting a cat from Halkidiki to a safe home is significant. This includes professional pet transport services that ensure the cats travel comfortably and meet all regulatory requirements.
3. Ongoing Care: For every cat we help find a forever home, there are 20 more still on the streets and some are unfortunately too feral to be rehomed. We need your help to neuter and provide feeding stations to make the streets more bearable for the ones left behind. These funds will be going to Halkidiki Animal Rescue
Please consider donating to our GoFundMe campaign and share this with your friends and family. Together, we can give these cats a chance at a better life.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and generosity.
With gratitude
