Help Save Our Home

I'm setting up this page in an attempt to help my mom. She received a letter a few days ago stating that she had 30 days to pay the $12,000 or they would begin foreclosure on our house.

Here is the backstory. A few years ago my mom came home from a doctor's appointment and found my dad hanging from a rope in our garage. That day turned her world completely upside down. Not only left to deal with the normal trauma that comes with something like that, she realized she was alone with three children. She continued paying the house payment, plus all of the other bills.  She never missed a payment on the house even though it was a struggle. Her job as a waitress wasn't cutting it, plus she had no benefits now. My Dad had insurance and benefits through his place of employment and since he died, everything ended. She ended up getting a job at a factory working all night shift so she could get health insurance on us and have some type of retirement plan.  After taxes and insurance, my Mom brings home $333 a week. That's not a lot, but she makes it work. But sometimes the unexpected happens, as it did a couple of years ago. We had really bad plumbing issues and actually went without water in our home for over a week. One plumber charged $200 and did nothing. The second plumber charged $300 and temporarily fixed the issue. At the same time we were having problems with our car and had to get brakes that very same week, as well as tie rods?  It was a lot of money that took our house payment for that month plus some. Automatic payments  for utilities bounced at the bank, and with fees, she ended up being severely overdrawn. Two paychecks in a row were automatically deposited from her work and she still had a negative balance. When you get that behind it takes awhile to get back on track. The next house payment was going to be late so she called the mortgage company to let them know what was going on. They asked to speak to my Dad. My Mom explained that he was deceased. They said that they couldn't discuss the account details with her because she wasn't on the loan. She couldn't understand this because she was co-owner and had signed everything with my Dad. Her name was on the deed of trust. They told her she had to show proof that she was executor to the estate or go to a judge for a probate. She didn't understand any of this so she got a lawyer friend to help her. They went to the courthouse and pulled up the Deed of Trust. The first paragraph stated that if my Dad died she would become the legal sole owner of the property. They even talked to the District Attorney and he said there was nothing to probate. They sent all of this information to the mortgage company but they still wouldn't talk to her about the account. They wouldn't let her make a partial payment. It had to be paid in full. Two years later and a folder bursting full of legal stuff that they have sent to this mortgage company to try to settle this and get the house in my Mom's name and still nothing. They keep giving my Mom and her lawyer the runaround. Now she owes $12,000, which must be paid in full or they are threatening foreclosure.

I have watched my Mom cry almost every single day. I can't imagine the stress she must be feeling. She has had to deal with everything with my Dad, the both of us going to therapy every week for a year, my eating disorder, which landed me in the hospital, putting my  brother through college, taking him back and forth to classes all day long after working the night shift in a factory to only bring home $333 a week, which she says she is grateful for. We have no family that can help and she is alone except for us and does everything without depending on anyone else. I love her so much and want so badly to help. I can't think of any other way to get that amount of money in 30 days. I have over 6000 twitter friends. If each one could donate only $2.00 that would reach our goal. I know that all 6000 won't see this or can't or won't donate. Even if it's 2000 people paying $6.00 each, that would help us reach our goal. If you could help I would be forever grateful. Most of my twitter friends are my Echelon family and the Echelon have been so good to me and gotten me through so much stuff. I've had to swallow my pride to ask for this, but I don't know what else to do. Thank you so much for listening. Please help.
