Save Our Daddy Dalyn

Donation protected

“Our daddy, Dalyn is very sick and needs a new kidney. It’s hard for us to see him not feeling good. He can’t do so many of the things he used to do and he is very tired. He seems sad a lot and cries sometimes and so does our mommy. We know they are very worried about the medical bills. We really want to help him get better, we all love him so much and this is so hard for us. Please share this and help if you can.” -Hunter 12, Conrad 9 and Lochlan 9 months

"I want to live, I have stuff to do, I don't have time to be sick! I have traveling to do with my wife and kids. There are graduations, weddings and grandchildren to live for!!! I won't let this disease take away my quality of life." -Dalyn

Dalyn’s Story
In 2010, my husband went to the doctor complaining of severe back pain and was immediately sent to the ER for a kidney biopsy. He was diagnosed with FSGS kidney disease…we were shocked, because he did not seem sick at the time and he is very young to have this disease.
We discovered after speaking to doctors that there is no cure for FSGS and the FDA has not approved any drugs specifically for its treatment. We were completely devastated.

“Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS)
is a rare disease that attacks the kidney’s filtering units (glomeruli) causing serious scarring which leads to permanent kidney damage and even failure.
People report fatigue, a poor appetite, headache, itchy skin, shortness of breath and/or nausea. Over time, patients with FSGS gradually get worse until they reach kidney failure, when this occurs, they will need a kidney transplant or dialysis to stay alive.

Dalyn has been stable over the last few years but recently the disease has progressed and he is now in Stage 4 Renal Disease with only 19% kidney function. He is currently on the National Transplant Donor list, but there is at least a 7 year wait. His doctors have told him it would be much better for him to find a living donor. Though many people don’t know it, anyone can be a donor. All you have to do is meet the requirements and tests. If a living donor is available, then the transplant could be done in as little as 6 months.

The cost of living with Kidney Disease is enormously high. He has rigorous blood tests done twice a month along with consultations and other medical tests to monitor the disease. Dalyn has always been a hard worker, but some days he has difficulty getting out of bed. Of course, all of this affects our ability as a family to pay bills. We are trying to keep our heads above water and keep a normal routine for our boys but it’s difficult and heartbreaking.

The boys and I need our Super Hero and I would be eternally grateful if you could give $1, $5, $10 or $20. Whatever you can give helps. Times are hard for a lot of us and if you don’t have money, sharing this post still raises awareness and could lead to someone else giving or even finding a living donor…it’s all helpful.
