Introduction

My husband Sean Ryan (or Mr. Ryan to his students) is a wonderful human being going through a terrible time. This week he was diagnosed with a stage-4 brain tumour with limited prospects.  He and our beautiful boy James are everything to me and I am writing to let you know that he needs our help. He is fighting for his life and needs our help and support.  We are working with the best neurologists in Canada and looking at options for viable treatments wherever they may be found.

About Sean

Sean has given the best parts of himself to other people his whole life. He’s a dedicated father, husband, son, brother, and loyal friend. He’s shaped the minds and spirit of a generation of students at Loyola High School and is an amazing teacher. Most important is Sean’s ability to make everyone smile and feel better after spending time with him, even now his doctors and nurses at the Neuro love him.  Sean is otherwise healthy, young, and strong with no medical problems so this only adds to the shock.

Overview of the Illness

 -       On November 15th Sean was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma multiform. This is a large, and highly aggressive brain tumour. It’s size and location prevents surgery.

-       Sean has suffered some symptoms since July but was told it was related to a possible concussion from baseball.  He had a seizure last week and underwent scans where the cancer was found.

-       In the next week or so the neurologists will meet with Sean and I to discuss treatment options available to him in Montreal.

How donations will be used

-       We are looking beyond Montreal and beyond Canada to get second and third medical opinions and we want to be able to get treatment wherever there is hope for a better future for Sean.

What you can do

Sean means so much to me and we are fighting with everything we have. We want you to help us with this fight. You can do this in a couple of ways. We would be so grateful if you could let Sean know how you feel about him and/or donate through this page.

As well if you could share this link with others who care about Sean we would really appreciate this.

Thank you with all our hearts,

Nathalie Fauteux
