We at Jozart Center for the Arts desperately need your help. Over the past year, we have fallen on difficult times. Illness and family issues have prevented a few of our regular donors from being able to pledge continued support, and we are in serious need of new donors and financial support.

In the past, Jozart has been the home of:

1) Concerts featuring both seasoned and new performers including Billy Price, Tony Janflone Jr., The Jakobs Ferry Stragglers (3 of whom are pictured above), Dave Pahanish, Girlz in Black Hats (now Steel Blossoms, pictured below), The Mad Hats, ilyAIMY, Cherylann Hawk, The Weathered Road, Hear Tonight, Skyline Heartbeat and many, many more. All of these shows have been priced affordably under $20. We've also held an annual Battle of the Bands for the past five years to help encourage burgeoning musical talents in our area.

2) Art classes and workshops. We've held workshops for budding artists of all ages. Our most popular offering, Wine & Line (pictured below), which meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, continues to be the region's best and most affordable program of its kind.

3) Art exhibits by local and established artists.

4) Readings by published and new writers/poets such as Stoker awarded nominees Stephanie Wytovich and Lawrence Connolly (pictured middle above) and author Sheldon Higdon (pictured right).

5) Writers' workshops.

6) A regular Open Mic Night (pictured above) intended to encourage talent by offering performers of all ages a venue in which to shine.

7) Zumba, yoga and dance classes.

8) The annual reunion of the Ivy School of Professional Art.

In the future, we plan to continue all of the aforementioned great offerings and will be adding more. For example, we're planning a class on Jack the Ripper in the late summer/early fall of this year.

However, in order for us to have a future, we need your help. Any amount will help. We've set a target goal of raising $10,000 which will help us offset our operational costs in the coming year. Any amount raised in excess of that amount will be used to implement new programs, to pay performers and/or teachers and to upgrade our existing facility.

Whether you can donate $1, $5, $10, $20 or more, every donation counts and will help us stay afloat. If you can't afford to donate, please share our story with your friends and contacts.

Because we are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, every contribution made to Jozart Center for the Arts is tax deductible.

If Jozart has ever occupied a special place in your heart or mind, please help. We cannot state more emphatically that our continued operation is dependent on the success of this fundraising campaign.

Good morning! Thanks to your help in donating & sharing, we are at almost 25% of our most urgent goal of the $2,000 we need to stay afloat in the coming months. We have exciting partnerships planned for summer & fall, but we have to stay open until those partnerships are in place. Please keep giving & sharing. Thanks so much from all of us at Jozart.

Good morning! We have an anonymous donor who will match all donations made today up to $250. So, your $5 donation becomes $10, etc. Please help us raise funds to keep Jozart open. This is crunchtime. Please help, share & help us get the word out that if we can't meet our 2K goal ASAP, we will have to close.

Feel free to copy and paste the above when you share the link, thanks!

Friends & supporters, about a month ago we posted an update to boost the visibility of our crowdfunding campaign. To those who answered our urgent call for assistance, thank you! To those who shared our campaign with their friends & social networks, thank you!

As we move into the new year, I unfortunately must report we continue to fall quite short of our stated goal of $10,000, which will help us keep the doors open at Jozart. While we have events & activities planned for the coming months, if we can't pay our basic expenses including our rent and utilities, we can't stay open. Period.

We have reached a point where we have to make some tough decisions about the future of Jozart. If having a place like Jozart is important to you, we need you to act now, whether it's by making a donation, volunteering your time and/or ideas, or helping us get the word out about this funding campaign.

Jozart is and always has been a labor of love, run entirely by volunteers and completely funded by donations and event ticket sales. We keep going, not because it's easy or even always fun, but because we can't imagine the idea of not having a place in the community like Jozart, where creativity is allowed to blossom and flourish.

Again, if Jozart has a special place in your heart as it does ours, please help.

Friends of Jozart, we need your help more now than ever. Please read and share this important update!

As you can see, when we launched our initial GoFundMe campaign, we set a goal of $10,000 to keep us operational for one full year. Thanks to the support of several generous donors, we raised $630 of that $10,000, leaving us over $9,000 shy of meeting our target goal. While those donations did enable to keep the doors open for almost half a year, during which we offered the community numerous opportunities to experience the arts at low or no cost, we are still desperately in need of funds in order to ensure our continued survival.

With that in mind, we are launching an emergency end of the year fundraising drive. Contributions made to Jozart, a 501(c)3 non-profit arts organization, are fully tax deductible, and any donations made between now and December 31, 2015, can be deducted from your 2015 taxes. (Donations made after that time are still tax deductible, but must be deducted from your 2016 taxes.)

While all donations are appreciated, contributions made in the next 48 hours will help us where the need is most immediate, and we will receive them in time to ensure we can keep the doors open and the lights on in the coming month. This is a serious concern, and we greatly appreciate any support.

If you can’t donate, please share this with your friends, family and social networks. If you can donate, thank you, and still please share this with your friends, family and social networks. Every dollar matters and every share counts.

Thank you in advance for your help and Merry Christmas from all of us at Jozart Center for the Arts.

Very truly yours,

Carla E. Anderton
