Help Lancaster JOG RC after floods

Donation protected
Lancaster John O' Gaunt Rowing Club has stood on the bank of the Lune since 1845. On Saturday 5th - Sunday 6th December we experienced the worst flooding on record at our boat house next to Skerton weir.

Power was cut to 55,00 homes in the surrounding area due to a major substation flooding, and our boat house was submerged reaching 6 inches into the 1st floor.

Unfortunately the level rose so rapidly there wasn't any time for the boats to be safely relocated, and the ground floor where all of our boats and equipment are kept was completely submerged.

We have a large task ahead, first of all to make sure the building is safe to use for all of our members, including the Lancaster Schools Rowing Association who share the building, and to repair the fleet, much of which has been damaged beyond repair.

The money raised will help repair the building used by both Lancaster John O' Gaunt Rowing Club and Lancaster Schools Rowing Association, and to replace or repair damaged boats and equipment from both clubs.

We are thankful for all the support people have shown us so far and will keep everyone updated on the situation.
