Great news! In the past six weeks, due to the efforts of our teachers, parents, and parish family, so many generous donors, and in particular, one amazing angel donor who gave $200,000, we have raised over $270,000 to save our school!
In light of these efforts, we are happy to announce that Holy Family will be open this next fall for the 2019-2020 academic year.
But we are not just content with opening the doors one more time: we want to keep them open forever. We want to keep going and establish a firm foundation so that the future of Holy Family School will be secure. We want to give our teachers and students the very best in opportunities and resources so that we can reach our full potential, to be the great school God is calling us to be.
Our angel donor has given us a pledge of faith and confidence that we are a school worth saving. Knowing how much this school has meant to so many, how can we not respond ourselves with the same faith and confidence in our future?
Therefore, we are challenging ourselves and our community to set a new goal and match this generous gift: to show by our own faith and confidence in this school, and by our continued fundraising efforts, just how much the education and formation here means to us, and just how strong our vision for the future is.

Holy Family Catholic School, located in Hillcrest Heights, Maryland, is a private Catholic school, educating children from grades pre-K through 8.
This year we celebrate 61 years of education. In years past, our school was able to rely on the generous support of our parish and the assistance of a community of religious sisters. But the loss of our sisters several years ago as well as changes in the church community have prevented the parish from contributing the kind of support it once did: like many schools, we are now, in part, dependent on fundraising to meet our operating expenses.
Our school is located in southern Prince George's County, in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and for many of our children, Holy Family has provided an educational opportunity that would otherwise be unavailable. Holy Family offers an education grounded in the Catholic tradition, a curriculum and an environment where the Christian faith of our students can be strengthened. We are committed to educating students in a way that addresses the needs of the whole child, while striving for academic excellence. Throughout our curriculum, and in all our extra-curricular activities, we teach students respect for themselves and others, discipline, and accountability, and we provide a positive environment of diversity and racial equality.
Under the leadership of Mrs. Michelle Taylor, the Archdiocese of Washington’s Rookie Principal of the Year (2016), our exceptional teachers and staff strive for academic excellence. And they succeed: our students achieve higher test results than those in other Prince George's County Public Schools, and they outpace the state average in a high-achieving state!
