Struggling Veterans Cancer Medical Bills

Donation protected
Guy Wycoff, retired navy vet, police officer of 20+ years, father of four and grandfather to seven, has recently been diagnosed with Cirhossis of the liver relating to a a terminal illness/disease he was not even aware he had contracted almost 40 years ago in the service. THIS DISEASE HAS DEVELOPED and been diagnosed as LIVER CANCER. He also has over 20 lbs of built up fluid on his abdomen and a severe infection from poor treatment at the Veterans Hospital in Augusta Maine. They waited so long to see him that things got worst so quickly to the point where they hospitalized him, and made him worst by causing an infection during a procedue that they didnt even do properly. Due to his poor condition he has been laid off from his job and CANNOT collect unemployment because he is not able to pursue work. . Disability takes a year or so to get as well. He has a mortgage that his Navy retirement does not even cover completely that leaves no money for anything else. we have pets and grandchildren that live with us. We are lost and dont know what to do. At the VA the treatment he recieved was heartbreaking. They do not change him when he uses the bathroom and cannot get up on his own. They act annoyed when he needs help caring for himseld and ignore him when he ask for care because he is "confused". He begged me not to complain because they would "take it out on him". When I tried to take pictures of him literally hanging off the hospital in the same dirty  johnny he had been wearing for four days, they told me there was no absolutely no photos to be taken on the property. This is awful. He does not know I am doing this. Please, anything would help. Now he is being sent to MASSGENERAL. We have no money to afford the copays that his military insurance Tricare does not cover. That is 20% of the total cost. If he does not pay they will not conitnue to treat him. MassGeneral has the top of the line cancer treatmeants which could potentailly allow him to live at least another year. He wants so badly to see his precious mirabelle learn to walk and talk. The saddest part is she will never remember him if he leaves us so early. He will be alone up there, its heartbreaking to think about. If we can make some money maybe his wife and some of his children could go to Boston to visit while he is undergoing his treatmeants. Guy is a charismatic, goofy, gentle, helpful man who would and has done this same thing for others. Thank you and May God bless you and keep this terrible burden of evil evil cancer from happening to other families .
