Save our Emotional Support Animal

Meet Bodie. We adopted Bodie 3 years ago, at a time when our household was broken.  My Father worked with the military and my sister worked as a journalist while they were in war-torn Afghanistan. When they came back to the states they had a difficult time adapting and reconnecting to anything at home. During this same time period my youngest sister had been a victim of an assault, our family was truly falling apart and we weren't sure how to deal with any of this. We decided to try and find something that would help us to reconnect, heal and bring our family back together. That something that turned out to be our blessing in disguise was Bodie. Through raising Bodie we were able to heal and grow together. Bodie became our Registered Emotional Support Animal and has helped us to heal and get through the most difficult of family times. Bodie has helped us heal so many times, and now that Bodies life is the one on the line we would like to return the favor.

Why does Bodie need your help?

The current city we live in was on a rampage to kill Bodie for having hurt a cat once after he was taunted. It was a single violent incident that with the help of therapy he received was never repeated again but he was labeled a dangerous animal and had extreme restrictions placed upon him.  Huskies are known to be escape artists and Bodie is no exception.  Any time he is able to out smart us like he did this last time and roam free he violates the restrictions put on him. His last violation (where he was peacefully lying on our lawn but was unsupervised after managing to break out while we were gone) was what set the city's rampage off. They held him in a shelter, where he was set to be put down.

We were able to find someone outside of our city limits to adopt him temporarily so we could keep him from being put down.

We now have to rehabilitate and relocate him so he can get a fresh start and have the chance to live the rest of his life well trained, happy and healthy.  To help Bodie accomplish this goal we have put him in a temporary boarding and specialized training facility.  Since Bodie has a record now it is imperative that he goes through this training because if he violates any of the conditions put on him, things could again potentially turn out deadly for him. Doing this is turning out to be a bit costly.

Please help us raise money so we're able to meet these requirements and give Bodie a new life in a happy home. He's a harmless dog with a bad habit of wanting to roam around free!
