Help Save Baby Alvaro's Life

This is baby Alvaro, he is a 17 month old child living in Cuba. I am Leoanrdo Aguado, my family and I use to live in Bejucal, Cuba, and personally know the family being impacted by this tragedy. In 2016 Alvaro was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia and has been undergoing Chemo therapy since October 2016. Unfortunately a key medication (Oncaspar (Pegaspargase), in Alvaro’s chemo cocktail is no longer available in Cuba. The substitute that was given to Alvaro caused a severe allergic reaction that almost killed him, and the Cuban Government has said that if the medication is not available in the next two weeks they will stop treatment and send Alvaro home to essentially die. The medication Alvaro needs is very expensive, and rare, with only a few manufacturers in the world. We are asking for donations to assist in the purchasing and shipment of the medication so that Alvaro can continue his fight against this terrible disease. All funds received will go directly to  Labotatorio Sigma Tau Strenuus Chile, whos is the supplier of the medication that Alvaro needs. Alvaro has 4 more Chemo treatments left that require 4 vials of medication with an estimated cost between $22,000 to $25,000. Once we have enough money to purchase the 4 vials of the medication, we will wire transfer the supplier the funds so that he can ship the medication directly to Alvaro's parents in Cuba. The medication must be received before his next Chemo treatment at the end of the month. Again, any donations collected will be used to purchase as much medication as we can, even if it’s not enough to complete the 4 treatments, however, it will buy him more time. Please, any donations, regardless of the amount contributed, would go a long way to saving baby Alvaro.
