Ralston Foundation Opera House Fund

Can a dying town be brought back from the brink?  Ralston Oklahoma is a very small town that is going to attempt just that, but we need your help.   We are hoping to purchase the neglected Ralston Opera House, built in 1900, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, #87001257.  The building is in danger of being demolished for its stone.  We have been in contact with the current owners and can purchase the property if we can raise the money.  We will be partnering with Forgotten Oklahoma (FB Forgotten Oklahoma Group) in an effort to save the structure and provide volunteer manpower for the needed work.

Our long term goal is to restore the small towns historic buildings, dating to the early 1900's, a recreate a window back in time where people could visit and see what life was like 100 plus years ago.

The Opera House would be the center piece of this dream in cobmination with the historic First National Bank building, built in 1902, already acquired by the town.  The funds would be used to purchase the building and stabalize it as immediate roof and window repairs are needed to prevent further damage.   The building was partially restored in the late 1980's so the buildings "bones" are good.  We would love to purchase the building ourselves but our little town of 350 people simply doesn't have the funds, so we're asking for help.
