Save South Street Art Mart!
#SaveSouthStreetArtMart We are Nicole (@TapedOffTV) and Nicole (@NightOwlDesigns), yes, two Nicoles. We are proud South Street veterans, we live off South Street, work on South Street, and we've been dedicated craft fair and flea market regulars for over a decade. We are creators, artists, builders, friends, and partners. Most recently, we have become South Street business owners. Last winter we were approached by the South Street Headhouse District, who asked us to take up an empty store front at 424 South Street and turn it into a Holiday Pop-Up Art Mart. Nearly six months later, what was supposed to be a fun & short-lived experiment has become a thriving center of weird, wacky, and wonderful local art. Before November 2018 we hadn't considered opening a brick and mortar shop, but thanks to the overwhelming support of the community and South Street customers, we see this as an exciting, fulfilling and viable option for the long haul. The opportunity presented to us by the Headhouse always had an expiration date, but thanks to an unexpected offer, we have the chance to make our dream a reality- The Art Mart can have a permanent home in the neighborhood that we love! With your help, we are raising funds to secure a new space on 4th Street. Here is an outline of what we need, and what the raised money will go towards: ▶ Raise $2,300 by April 30th to secure the new location off 4th Street. This is a lot, we know! ▶ Raise a total of $5,000 over the course of this campaign to help us move, set up our permanent location, and ... breathe :) ▶ Anything raised past $5,000 will go towards keeping the lights on and the doors open, towards encouraging local artists to promote and sell their work, and towards continuing to connect over 60 local artists with the South Street community. We are hoping to move into the new location on May 1st, and will be set up under Tattooed Mom's Big Top Tent during South Street Spring Fest—right across from them, at 530 South Street—so keep an eye out for new & exciting things from us regarding the move and whatever comes next. You can follow us on Instagram at @southstreetartmart. We could have never gotten this far without the community's support, and we are endlessly grateful to you all. We hope to give back just as much as you've given us. Keep South Street Weird. Love, -Nicole² #SaveSouthStreetArtMart + Read More

Thank you SO much to everyone who has donated and/or shared so far. Nicole and I are completely blown away by your kind words, encouragement and belief in us and local art. We literally could not make this happen without you and the fact that we have raised so much already is the biggest relief imaginable. We still have a little ways to go, but wanted to take a minute to thank everyone. Y'all are the greatest and your support means the world.
