Save Sir Thomas Trueheart
Sir Thomas Trueheart was living the life of an outside, unwanted cat in the high desert of California. Some kind people were feeding him but he had no home to call his own. Tommy is a friendly boy and that friendliness almost cost him his life. A cruel human or humans deliberately poured a caustic substance on Tommy’s face literally burning half of it almost off, including his right eye. He wandered for days in agony and found his way back to the people’s house who were feeding him. They immediately took him to a vet who had NO idea what they were doing and wanted to send Tommy home with just some antibiotics and then when they tested him and found out he was FIV+ they wanted to kill him. The people who rescued Tommy reached out to Milo's Sanctuary on social media and Milo's immediately jumped into action, getting a hold of the woman who had rescued him and having her rush him to the vet. Thomas was at the vet for over a month on antibiotics, pain medications, and sugar bandages to help the wound heal and granulate. Then he went to a surgical specialist who did an amazing job with a skin graft. Through it all, Tommy was so brave and purred and kissed the people taking care of him. After his skin graft there was more hospital time and FINALLY Tommy got to go to his Lifetime Care Foster home where he continues to heal and get lots of love and attention. Tommy has ongoing issues with his one eye and has not yet fully healed from his skin graft, but every day he is making progress!
Milo's Sanctuary & Special Needs Cat Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) founded on the belief that all cats deserve a second chance at life, especially those that have physical disabilities, are seniors, have a terminal illness, or have been abused and need someone to care for love and understand them. All Milo’s cats receive medical care and anything else that they require to have the best quality of life for as long as we can. Milo's relies solely on donations to continue its mission to help special needs cats and kittens that would otherwise die abandoned in the shelter or on the street. EVERY cent donated goes directly to the care of these beautiful souls. All donations are tax deductible.
Thomas had something horrible to him, but it didn't stop him from being a happy, affectionate cat. He sees the good in people. Let's show him that the world is overwhelmingly good and that he is so very loved. Please donate to his vet bills. Milo's Sanctuary and I would be forever grateful.
Thomas is doing well and I will be visiting and photographing him in the next few weeks.
You can read more about Thomas in the spring/summer issue of Modern Cat Magazine: http://moderncat.com/articles/true-heart/90047
Milo's Sanctuary also recently rescued a cat from Tijuana. You can read all about him and donate to his medical care here: https://www.gofundme.com/AbusedCatFromMexico
I hope they will find the monster that hurt this precious cat and put him in prison, where he belongs. People who abuse animals go on to abuser people. Someone's child might just be the next victim. Only a shallow soulless person would hurt a precious animal. May God bless the ones who rescued him and are loving him now. I love all cats, but the orange ones are my favorites.
Poor baby! It breaks my heart that his happened to him. I hope they find whoever did this to him and prosecute them fully. This sweet little guy did not deserve this at all. I am very glad though that there were some humans kind enough and smart enough to get him to a place where he could be helped. Animal abuse is so ugly, please urge your lawmakers to enforce laws against this atrocities, and to enforce them! Purr on sweet Thomas, I am so sorry this happened to you. ♥
I see Christopher says he started a fundly, but beware! People will see a campaign take off, then copy it in hopes to raise a bunch of money and pocket it. This person saw that people donated over 10 grand and wants a piece of that money. :( It's always best to stick with the original, credible story and author, not someone copying a story to raise more money and do who-knows-what with it. We have no idea who this Christopher is, and if he would really give the money to the shelter.
Thank you to everyone who donated, it restores my faith in human nature. You are all amazing.
