Save Our School's Performing Arts Program!

We are a tiny school in the Northern Rivers of NSW (Australia) with only 36 kids and we need your help to keep our Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) Program alive in 2019!

Our school community is super passionate about every single aspect of the performing arts and have a diverse program that encompasses dancing, singing, acting and general music. We believe that there is a critical link between being better learners and fostering a love of the creative and performing arts and want to make sure our kids can continue to experience the sheer joy of learning these crafts.

Currently, the NSW government does not fund music education to the extent we would like to see in our school so it is through a combination of parent contributions and P&C fundraising that we are able to keep this program alive. In 2019, we are projecting a shortfall of approx $2,500 and we need your generous donations to make up the difference.

Numerous global studies have shown that a music and creative arts education not only improves a child’s overall learning outcomes (making them better, smarter learners in numeracy and literacy) but it also boosts their self-confidence and social skills. Children involved in arts programs are more likely to stay in school, are more motivated, and tend to do better at other subjects when compared to students not involved in the arts. 

Your contribution would go towards:
           1.     Thursday Music Classes for all 36 students
           2.     Guitar tuition and a guitar for all Year 4, 5 & 6 students
           3.     Extra Term 4 lessons for our fabulous music teacher to get
                    ready for the school concert
           4.     Performances at the local park for Carols in the Park
           5.     End of year production including every student at the local 
                    hall where they dance, act, sing and play their instruments
           6.     Hall hire, lighting and sound
           7.     Helping 36 kids grin from ear to ear every Thursday
