Toddlers Get No Legal Right to Mom

Donation protected
My bright, beautiful, blue-eyed babies are my world. I left my  career to raise them. I was a mother with 2-time postpartum depression/anxiety. Instead of help, I was living with a a young man who didn't even know how to keep up on washing his own dishes. And regarded my begging for help with my postpartum as a burden he didn't need to deal with.

To add to the problems, this person took away the car on a whim, mostly when I had long awaited appointments to see my mental health prescriber. Rather than support my recovery, I found that he was calling DHS, and this led to many accusations. He was supposed to be the head of my relapse plan and call counselors, friends and my family to help in supporting the children when I could not. He never did, and now I find myself in this dilemma.

In cases like this, it seems that money talks louder than truth sometimes. I am hoping that is NOT how custody of children is handled in our community. I am seeking $6000 to help secure a strong attorney who specializes in cases like mine. I hate asking for help, and had to be talked into doing this. It was this or sell everything I had, including furniture, but that leaves me deeper in a hole. I decided to take a chance here, and I am doing so because this will hurt my kids forever if not corrected. It also sets a precedent that mothers don't count if they're poor. I’m out of options.

Thank you all for anything you can do. Merry Christmas, and God bless you and yours.
