A legal challenge has been lodged to stop Mt Gilead historic farm from being carved up for housing by greedy Developers. This comes at a high cost, much like a David versus Goliath scenario. We are just a small group of very concerned local honest residents who want to protect and save the beautiful Historic working farm in its intactness its environment has very sensitive Koala corridors surrounding 3 sides of this property. We have no money but we have passion and we care. If Government allows this to happen a precedent will be set for all other developers. The rural land on this map, some 5300 hectares or 13,170 acres, is owned by Developers and it will get developed. Unless we send a message to Governments and Developers that we object to urban sprawl. Show your support.

INFRASTRUCTURE (Roads, schools, Hospitals, Public transport are just a few)
ENVIRONMENT (Pollution of the creeks & Nepean River, Air pollution, Roslyn Park coal seam gas processing plant, coal mining.)
WILD LIFE (Koalas, many species of endangered animals live on this land, same with many species of birds, not to mention the endangered flora)
VISUAL ASPECT (The beautiful scenic hills all the way to the Blue Mountains will be replaced with roof tops)
AGRICULTURE (A working cattle farm as many as 1000 head of cattle roam the lush green pasture’s) not forgetting it is part of Sydney’s food bowl.
JOBS (Not many local jobs in this area, making job opportunities car dependant)
SUSTAINABLE (This very large farm helps protect the endangered Flora & Fauna, as it is surrounded on 3 sides by unspoilt bushland & native wildlife. It is the closest point of corridors for Koalas between the Georges & the Nepean Rivers)
HERITAGE (The dam is the first attempt at water conservation in Australia. Cluster of colonial building including granary, mills and Francis Greenway Barn. COBB AND CO road to the Nepean River. Humes Hillsborough cottage site. A lot of evidence of Aboriginal, and Convict Heritage)
Help Save Mount Gilead Incorporated have engaged local accountants Flegg, Kehlet, Wagner to regularly monitor the donations, and to do an audit as required.
Any funds that are donated surplus to paying for solicitors and Barrister fees will be donated to University of Sydney Veteniary Hospital, Cobbitty AREPH
