Howdy!

It is with great sadness that we report that SU Treasury won't fund KWUR Week this year. We were funded for $0 last night, based on a 90 percent rule infraction from last spring (we didn't spend enough money) and a slippery slope argument about making exceptions for student groups, even for historic events (this would be the 27th edition of KWUR Week).

We understand that the goal of this campaign is crazy high. ~20k is how much treasury has been willing to fund us for KWUR Week in the last few years, and it's what we asked for again. We don't expect to raise that much money in the few days we have to pull this together, but anything would help. Funding the smaller shows is our priority, and we feel it’s feasible. We don't love the idea of being dependent on charitable donations and understand that there are plenty of amazing places you can send your money.

We do, however, have a whole lot of merchandise that we'd love to send you! Pictures are available in the drive folder linked at the end of this post. If you email [email redacted] with the design you'd like / size if applicable and your address, we'll get that over to you as soon as this madness dies down. For reference, we generally charge $10 for short sleeve and $15 for long sleeve. Shipping is a few dollars. We would also love to see anyone at the shows who can make it! We'll update this page with a final schedule of what is actually happening once we know.

Our appeal slides are also linked below and contain all of the funding information. Here is the summary:

Anna Burch w/ student openers (3/18) - $3,000 artist fee + security, audio services, rider requests
Local Showcase w/ PRYR, Jay D'Andre, Le'Ponds, and Danielle Taylor (3/20) - $1,000 ($250 each) + security
Junglepussy w/ Dolly Spartans (3/22) - 10,000 Junglepussy artist fee, 1,500 Dolly Spartans artist fee + security, audio services, rider requests, and a cleanup of the Gargoyle
Classical show featuring two harpsichordists (3/25) - $500 to help the music department

All shows besides classical would be held in the Gargoyle. This is also the Gargoyle's last year of existence so we really want to make this happen - they're gutting it and turning it into office space. We may adjust the schedule as we gauge what is feasible and what isn't.

We are seeking some alternative funding routes and if we manage to pull something off we will refund anyone who donated. We have about a week to pull this off though, so we would appreciate donations sooner rather than later.

If you're interested in helping us out, we'd love to have your help! KWUR friends are the best friends and we love you <3
