SAVE JOE HUBER'S FAMILY FARM

$16,833 of $100,000 goal

Raised by 479 people in 6 months
My name is Jenna Clem (Huber).

Any money raised will be used on November 17th, 2018, the day of the auction, in hopes of retaining Joe Huber’s Family Farm and Restaurant. In the unfortunate event that we are unable to retain the farm, any money raised will be donated to WHAS Crusade for Children, a charity that was near and dear to both of their hearts. I would like to thank you all again for your continued support.

My father was Joseph Huber lll. I’m sure that most of you reading this also know that my father was killed in a tragic mowing accident at his home on July 27th, 2015. My father devoted his entire life to the farm, as did my grandfather, Joseph Huber Jr. Since the death of both my grandfather and father, there has been a divide in the family. To some, money means more than keeping a family tradition alive. My husband and I have made multiple fair offers to purchase the farm from my aunts and uncles which were not even considered. So I can assure you that the next generation is very interested in keeping their legacy alive. I can say this with certainty, as I am the next generation. After my father died, my husband and I purchased his home. We had no intention on moving there, we just wanted to keep it in the family. So many people in the community have told me they have such fond memories of “the farm”, whether it be from your childhood or as an adult. Whether it was picking pumpkins, the chicken and dumplings, or the fried biscuits and apple butter. I have these fond memories as well. I grew up on this farm and as a child it was the best!  So in July of 2018, we decided to move “to the farm” from our home in Louisville. It was a hard decision that I struggled with. I didn’t know if I could live there comfortably and look at the spot in the backyard where that tragic accident happened in 2015 that turned my world upside down. However, I wanted my 2 boys to experience the amazing childhood that I was so lucky to have had. And they LOVE it here! And I love it here, too. Since then, we have become more involved with the business. I have never known a world without a Joe Huber’s Farm.  And I don’t want to experience that world, honestly. I have to fight to keep my fathers legacy, as well as my grandfathers, alive. They were two of the most hardworking people I’ve ever met. When I was a little girl the strawberry patch was literally my front yard. I remember sitting out there and eating delicious strawberries while waiting on my ride for school in the mornings. I remember my dad getting up at all hours of the night to set up irrigation pipes so the crops wouldn’t freeze. And never once did he complain about doing it. He put his blood, sweat, and tears into everything he did.  He always told me “Always do the right thing and always have integrity. Without integrity, you are nothing.” My father was the definition of integrity.  He always did what he thought was to be the right thing. He also always told us to “Dream Big and WORK HARD!” So I will. I refuse to let his legacy die. And I will work hard and fight to help it live on.  However, I cannot do it alone. We are asking for the community’s help so that we can continue to give back to the community. Any money raised will be used on November 17th, 2018, the day of the auction, in hopes of retaining Joe Huber’s Family Farm and Restaurant. In trying to be as transparent as possible, despite what the public perception may or may not be, we are not millionaires. My husband and I are also prepared to add our own personal funds, in hopes to continue my father and grandfathers legacy. In the unfortunate event that we are unable to retain the farm, any money raised will be donated to WHAS Crusade for Children, a charity that was near and dear to both of their hearts. I would like to thank you in advance for your continued support.

We are beyond excited that we were able to Save the Farm! We couldn’t have done it without the support of this amazing community, and for that we are forever grateful. Thank you for all the kind words and to everyone who donated to the go fund me page. We were fortunately able to purchase the farm with the funds from a personal business loan. We will be donating all of the $16,833 from the go fund me page to the Crusade for Children! As many of you know, this charity was very near and dear to my father and grandfather. We will be accepting additional donations on the page for the Crusade for Children until June 1st. On behalf of my family, we sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Because of your continued support we are able to continue the legacy of my grandfather and father! We are excited for the future and all future memories and traditions to be made!

Sincerely,
Jenna Huber Clem

From the bottom of our hearts we want to thank the community for your support. It truly would have been impossible without you! I’m so proud to have the honor of continuing my fathers legacy. Im excited for the future and to be able to continue my grandfathers vision. I also want to say thank you to Sam Shine, as none of this would be possible without him. He is one of the most genuine and kind people I’ve ever had the privilege of meeting. I can’t thank you enough Mr. Shine. Thank you to my sister, Terra, for always being by my side, no matter what. To my husband...well you are just simply amazing! I also want to thank Louie and Katie Huber as well as Chuck and Tracye Huber for your support! To everyone...THANK YOU for turning my dream into a reality. I hope many more memories and traditions will be made at Joe Huber’s.
To everyone who donated to the GoFundMe Page, I will forever be grateful. You kind words will stay with me forever.

To my grandpa, as well as my dad, it was always about family. That’s what it ultimately came back to in everything they did...Every decision they made, every vision they had. When I was 7 years old, my mom was diagnosed with a brain tumor. My dad dropped everything and found the best doctors for her. Those doctors happened to be at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, where they stayed for quite a while. My family stepped up to take care of us kids. I lived with my aunt Katie and uncle Louie during this time and they took me in as their own. He taught me to ride a bike without training wheels. Every part of the family stepped up in some way because after all that’s what families do! I want nothing more than to just be given the chance to continue the legacy left by two of the most amazing people. Most of my family is behind me 100%. However there are a couple members of my “family” who are trying their hardest to deny me that chance and I just can’t understand why. We have exhausted every effort in trying to come to an agreement. We’ve made several offers. Our most recent offer of 2.5 million dollars was immediately turned down with a counteroffer of almost double that! I can’t understand why they too, wouldn’t want this farm to stay in the family. After all, it was their family who worked so hard as well. Sadly, my mom and dad are gone. This farm and the memories I have is all I have left. I will not give up. It breaks my heart that money is more important to them than family. It breaks my heart for my generation and for my children. I am grateful for all of my family that is supporting us. I refuse to give up on my grandpas vision of this farm going on for generations. Well I AM the next generation. I deserve the chance. I know my dad is guiding me and I know I can say I tried and I never gave up. Whether I succeed or fail, I at least deserve the chance. I am so grateful for the community as well. Your kind words and support give me the motivation to keep fighting. I’m not fighting just for my memories but for yours as well. From the bottom of my heart, I am forever grateful. So please continue to share my story and help me continue the legacy of two amazing people. They not only earned it but deserve it!
