Save Jax from Blastomycosis

Donation protected
I adopted a beautiful lab mix, Jax. Discovering that his temperament was perfect and that he already had a natural gift for it, I decided to train Jax as my psychiatric service dog. Sadly we only got a few weeks into training.

Jax came home with a cough from the shelter that never cleared up despite the anabiotics he was put on by the vet. Within two weeks of trying a stronger anabiotic he began to have irritation and discharge in his left eye as well as some slight facial swelling.

The vet had assumed he may have been bitten by a spider. Sadly it was not the case. Within a week swelling doubled and sores broke out on his body. The vet then did blood work and x-rays of Jax lungs. The vet's worst fear came true. Jax has blastomycosis, a fungal infection.

Within 2 days of getting a diagnosis and starting medication Jax lost vision in his left eye and is on medication to try and save the eye itself. However his eye specialist vet didn't hold much hope and has advised me that the best option is to remove the eye, which will require a high risk surgery due to the fungus in his lungs. A surgery that will cost just under $2,000.

This has devastated me and causing my already fragile mental state to spiral into chaos. In only 4 weeks we spent $3,000 in medical diagnostics and treatment for Jax. Monthly meds to treat this disease are between $150 -$300 a month. My husband and I are going through our emergency savings just to save Jax from this horrible disease. Please help me in rasing money for this treatment that can be months or years of recovery and has a high probability of relapse. Prayers are alway appreciated as well. Have a blessed day.
