Save Bughouse Theater

For more than eight years Bughouse has been providing a space for performers to do what inspires them.  We have been bringing the arts to schools and community organizations. We have created a place that artists, performers and comedians of all stripes can call home.  Now we find ourselves in a position where we may have to close our doors.

Until now we have gotten by on a shoestring budget and a skeleton crew.  However, in late June our air conditioning went out at the height of Chicago's heat wave.  We had to cancel three weekends of shows while appointments were made and equipment was ordered.  That unexpected expense and the loss of revenue for three weeks has put us in a hole that we are unable to get out of without your help.

We are raising $10000 to secure our space through the end of the year and allow us to save up for the next rainy day, which will inevitably come.

There have been a rash of theater closings in the last few years.  With your help we can prevent Bughouse from joining them.  If you have performed at Bughouse, taken a class, or seen a show here, we asking that you donate to help keep the space open for others to do the same.
