Bub's Bullet Removal From Spine

Our sweet five-year-old kitty Bubs was paralyzed after being shot with two bullets, and requires immediate surgery.

Tonight, my family and I were devastated to learn that Bubs was shot with a pellet gun while taking his usual stroll down our street. After noticing he was gone for longer than usual we immediately started our search and put word out online.

We received news that he had been found and brought into our local veterinary emergency room with bullets in both his stomach and spinal cord. This is currently causing paralysis in his back legs, preventing him from going to the bathroom or walking. 



We are trying to gather funds immediately as we have been told that his surgery should be planned for this week. However, because the removal process is very sensitive, the doctors informed us that the surgery would be rather expensive with the possibility of additional cost after its completion. The vet predicts a recovery with the bullet's removal and proper rehabilitation. We don't know if he will ever be able to walk again, but there is a chance. Otherwise, Bubs will remain paralyzed and potentially need to be put down if his lower extremities do not regain functionality.


Bubs is one of the sweetest most loving animals I have ever met, and means the world to my family. He serves as a therapy cat for my father on constant dialysis, and emotional support for my sisters in grade school. He helps with my high school sister’s depression, and my brother’s college homework. After the shooting, Bubs was actually brought in to the ER having somehow lost his collar. He was originally scheduled to be put down as an injured stray. They chose to hold off on this because the veterinary technician stated that “he was much too sweet and affectionate to not belong to a loving home.”
