Mother's helping Mothers

The Saskatoon Mothers’ Centre is a “Mothers Helping Mothers” community based organization located in the core neighbourhoods of Saskatoon. We are a vibrant and growing organization, rich in diversity and deep connections. We provide a safe space for women and children to participate in programs, support each other, discover their courage, and connect with community resources. We are one of 750 mothers’ centres across the world, and one of two in Canada.

Since starting the Saskatoon Mothers’ Centre we have helped  15 women from our sewing circle, 7 hosts, and 164 women per month from drop in to develop their sewing, communication,  and leadership skills as well as improving self-confidence .

We Need Your Support…

 The Saskatoon Mothers’ Centre is a new organization that is reliant on short term grants and community contributions.  Recent changes to grant support, raising costs and job loss are all making it more difficult for the not for profit sector to continue to offer services.


At the end of 2015, we found out we are losing a major funding source that will greatly impact our operations and capacity. We have chosen to actively engage with our community in order to develop a sustainable funding base to replace these funds. We are raising funds to support the Saskatoon Mothers’ Centre core programs that assist women build self- confidence, better their skills, and provide a good life for themselves and their families. 

How the money will be used…

The money will be used to support the sewing circle, the drop in centre, parenting circles and programs and the breastfeeding peer support program. We are hoping to raise $25,000 by May 31, 2016.

We are deeply committed to mothers helping mothers and have had great success in women reaching their goals and contributing to our community. We want to build on this success and ensure the sustainability of the Saskatoon Mothers’ Centre.
