Portrait photographer Sarah Dunn has given the world thousands of iconic images of some of the world's best-known actors. Now, after a severe traffic accident, Sarah needs our help to get the care she'll need to heal and resume her life's work.
Sarah was struck by a speeding car on the afternoon of April 3rd 2018 as she crossed a street near her home in Los Angeles. While the impact spared most of her major organs, she suffered serious brain trauma called Diffuse Axonal Injury. It will likely take years to heal. We don't yet know what specific challenges she may face in coordination, perception, balance, and other aspects of brain function. However, it is clear is that she faces a long, difficult fight and will need extensive specialized care to recover fully and return to making art.
From a young age, Sarah has lived to make portraits. By now, millions have seen unforgettable images and witnessed her genius with the medium of light. At the same time, Sarah's personal kindness and generosity have illuminated and enriched the lives of her family, friends, and many co-workers. Every day they saw her unassuming and loving personality, how she always thought of them first, made sure they were cared for and had what they needed. She never asked anything for herself.

Please make a generous contribution via GoFundMe to ensure that Sarah recovers as quickly and completely as possible. Her family and friends need her back, and although she can't say so herself, her deepest desire is to get back to them and back to making portraits.

This is Sarah today three months since her brain trauma sitting next to our dog Pudding, now our service dog.
Sarah is making steady progress with her therapies which have only been possible due to this funding. We still have a long road ahead, but the recovery so far has been most encouraging. The biggest issues Sarah faces are her eyesight and walking, both of which are improving and will continue to improve. The double vision in particular is distressing to her but the Eye Therapy is helping with this.
Please continue to help with Sarah's care so that she can get back to taking pictures.
My thanks again to you all.

Sarah is doing well with her therapies but still struggling with her Eye Therapy as it’s a long process and her vision is everything.
Physically she gets stronger everyday and her determination shines through.
For someone who is usually very organized and focused this is the hard part as she becomes more aware of everything.
The transformation from 10 weeks ago is amazing.
Thank you again.

Thank you all once again for your generous gifts.
Sarah is working hard with Physical Therapy every day so she can walk and regain her motor skills. We are also having Vision Therapy to correct her eyesight so she can get back to doing what she’s does best, taking pictures.
Sarah’s speech therapy is going well and she tells me she is bored and frustrated at not being able to do certain things just yet.
None of this would of been possible without the fund, so once again thank you.

Sarah is continuing in her recovery which is going well although very hard work for her and frustrating at times. She is beginning to realize just how much support she has which is a little overwhelming to say the least.
The hard work continues but she is improving every day.
