Sara's Climb to Kilimanjaro for Accessible Jordan

In Jordan, persons with disabilities make up 11-15% of the population, excluding those with physical challenges who struggle with their daily lives due to the lack of accessible facilities in Jordan. Whether you are wheelchair bound, a mother with a baby stroller, have an injured leg, or a senior, accessibility is an issue that touches us all.
In honor of those people of determination, Sara Asad will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise awareness on the issue of accessibility in Jordan on January 16th, 2019. Sara will climb in the name of Accessible Jordan , a campaign created by an inspiring young lady, a wheel chair user, who is determined to improve the quality of life of the physically impaired.
Through this initiative, Sara aims to bring awareness to the Accessible Jordan campaign and its following projects:
1) Lets Play Together: a project which aims to install fully accessible swings in parks across Jordan with a joint vision to make Jordan’s public parks inclusive for all kids no matter their differences. (JOD350 per swing + JOD 50-100 installation fees). Note: swings can be branded with sponsor’s logo’s.
2) Community based projects: targeting underserved homes with disabled members to provide them with needs such as: wheelchair replacement and maintenance, and installing ramps in homes.
-Average price per wheelchair or shower chair: JOD100
-Average price per ramp: JOD30 for 1-2 step basic ramp and price varies between JOD50-JOD300 based on the type of ramp needed (removable, cement filling, 2+ steps)
3) Organizing campaigns encouraging sports centers, organizations, schools, and restaurants to develop accessible amenities.
These goals can only be achieved with your generous contributions towards the fundraiser and sharing the campaign to generate awareness.
