Sandra Cooper Graham was an amazing Mom and Grammy to not only her children and grands, but to many, many others. She loved without limits, was kind-hearted and had the most wonderful sense of humor.
On Saturday, January 21, 2017, she finally made her way home to be with God and her loving husband CW, who has been waiting on her since May 3, 2015.
Sandy lived very simply and did not have much of anything. She lived off a very small Social Security income and did not have life insurance. This memorial fund is going directly to the Graham family to help pay for the funeral costs.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support.
Sandy's Story
In late July 2016, Sandy was diagnosised with Lung Cancer. Shortly thereafter, she began having problems with her heart. Before she could start treatments for lung cancer, the doctors wanted to fix the heart issue. On August 1st, she had a routine heart cath and during the procedure the Doctor preforated her femoral artery. It took a day to discover that she had lost more than 3 pints of blood and had to undergo another surgery to clean out her insides and make sure they had fixed the artery. Recovery was slow and she spent the next month in a half in the hospital and transistional care. In November, they were able to finally address her heart condition and implanted a pacemaker. In December, finally able to now focus on her lung cancer, she returned to Moffit for treatment. She had to have a new PET scan and now the lung cancer had metastasized to her liver. In early January 2017, after many tests, she decided against any chemo treatments and entered long-term hospice on January 13, 2017. She passed away peacefully on January 21, 2017 with all of her family by her side.
