Nebraska is under water. Gretna is the home of the largest global herd of an endangered species of goats, the San Clemente Island Goats.  Fellow Nebraskans have answered calls for help by showing up with trailers  and literally saving them  from drowning.  The herd is over 250 goats strong. They have been moved to a foster farm.

We can never repay the tireless efforts of those that showed up. We are so appreciate the physical help, trailers, the foster farm, prayers and well wishers. It was no easy task. Hypothermia was a serious problem during the rescue. The responders were amazing and super heroes!

URGENT FUNDS ARE NEEDED

The goat’s food source has been destroyed or contaminated. Some of the goats will need medical care, medication & other supplies due to the contaminated water, stress, and evacuation. The fencing that contained them has been destroyed.  The farm was not spared. There is so much work that needs to be done before they can return to the farm.

Any amount donated would be deeply appreciated. Please accept our deepest appreciation in advance for your consideration.

Look how stunning the Bucks are. The two shown here are father & son...Bucky & Tucker.

The scenes with the herd shows the lushness from last Spring compared to the very same spot they stood before they were rescued. They never knew what hit them. Without your generosity they would have been lost.

Today the girls were moved to a new location. One half received Vet care, vaccinations, and hoofs trimmed followed by shampoos. The other half will be treated on Saturday. Now it is time to let them rest. They loved seeing John & Chad.

So many to thank that have blessed us. So many who believe these goats are important and should be saved.

You have Blessed us beyond measure.

Bath day on Saturday! Thank you so much for dropping off the towels. Vets will be on site examining the goats, giving shots and meds as needed. Hoofs will be cleaned and trimmed as needed. It will be a day of glow for these amazing goats. Without you this would have been impossible. Please continue to share as the demolition will start soon. Blessing to you all for your amazing support! John & Chad are so moved by your amazing support and generosity!

BTW John & Chad had a mixture of birds. My favorite were the 3 old turkey gentlemen. At one time they were meant for Thanksgiving dinner... Once you name them you cannot eat them and we all grew to love them. One of them is pictured with Chad.
