Sally's Medical Fund

Thank you for reading this. It’s a hard and humbling experience asking for help and our family is grateful for any support. Please read Sally’s story below:

Getting a cancer diagnosis changes everything. One day you’re stressed about getting the kid to school and cleaning up the house, your husband/relationship or the bank account balance, and the next, you’re given a diagnosis that your life depends on. You have to undergo highly invasive procedures that come with complete lifestyle changes.

Sally’s has been a particularly rough progression. She was diagnosed on Jan 31, 2017, with Ductal Carcinoma, stage 2 (Lymph node involvement), in her right breast and an infection from the biopsies.  Sally learned on March 10th that it wasn’t an infection at all.  It was a locally aggressive form of Breast cancer that had metastasized enough so that surgery was no longer an option. The doctors said it was most likely Inflammatory Breast Cancer. The tumor had tripled in size and it was now at least Stage 3, and possibly worse.

They told her it was now a life or death decision and she needed to start Chemo immediately. We started the first course of Chemo yesterday, March 20th, 2017.

If you know Sally you know she’s a light, strong, fierce spirit. Not one to conform, not one to accept blindly. She has great compassion for people and the world and because of that, she is aware that there are many ways to heal. She went through a beautiful and painful struggle over whether to get the Chemo. Her doctors were telling her she needed it to save her life. During that process of deciding what to do, she found peace and inspiration to heal by accepting that it will be a mix of both traditional and alternative medicines. Using potent Chemotherapy to immediately impact the cancer, with alternative and complimentary care to offset the effects of the Chemo and rebuild her body.

Part of the donations collected here will go towards Sally’s traditional medical bills, which are already substantial. Part will go towards working with cutting edge technology, science, and medicine that are complimentary to the standard practices. There are people doing amazing things to combat all type of cancers, and what Sally finds will be shared and added to the already tremendous body of knowledge that exists today. If you contribute you will be not only helping Sally and her family to get through this intense life change but you will also be contributing to actual testing, experiences, and results from many alternative sources.

Thank you so much for your consideration. Sally will be updating her progress and her techniques here.

Please note that GoFundMe charges an 8% processing fee on every donation made. If you'd like to cover that fee in your donation, please feel free to add that to your total.  (i.e. a $50 donation would be $54 to cover the fee, a $100 donation would be $108, a $250 donation would be $270, a $500 donation would be $540, and a $1000 donation would be $1080).

If you prefer to send a check directly to Sally and Damon, please make a check out to Sally Brink and mail directly to PO Box 461, Stowe VT 05672.

Truly, any amount you can afford to donate is appreciated and will help. Love you all.
