Support for Brancel Family

I've never made a prayer request or asked anyone for emotional support on social media, but I would like to make one today for some dear friends of mine and Desiree's, Rudy and JoAnn Brancel, who tragically lost their daughter -- and our friend -- Lauren Brancel in a car accident in California over the weekend.

Rudy, JoAnn, Lauren and son Rudy Jr. were our neighbors for a year when we lived in Key West, and they touched our lives beyond words -- always helping, always caring, always there. To see them go through such hurt -- and to lose a beautiful soul like Lauren, so young -- is unimaginable, and we've been sick to our stomachs since hearing the news. In between lots and lots of tears, of course.

I have no idea if JoAnn and Rudy -- two proud, hard-working kind souls who would much rather help than be helped -- would even want me to do this. But I know that the expenses they'll incur traveling from Key West to California and back -- to hold Lauren's funeral in Florida, where she was a renowned divemaster and boat captain -- will be taxing.

Please help however you can. Even if it's just to say a prayer.
