Hello, my name is Juliana Piscina and I am a junior at Villanova University, studying film and production. A project that I have put my passions into writing and directing is my short film, Wavefield.

Wavefield, a student short film, tells the story of a female soldier coming home from her third tour, but her truth is on the battleground and her war is at home. Niki has a loving husband, Kyle, and beautiful son Tucker. However, this honorable family will be attacked by a haunting reality—that her child is not her husband’s son. Wavefield, will delve into the internal struggle of a loveless marriage and a moral complex preventing the truth from revealing itself. My short film sheds light on the complexities of returning from a war, the disheartening tension of an ending marriage and the gender roles these characters feel they must uphold throughout this process.
