So, ya, I would say we were probably due for this crazy kid to actually get hurt. Ryan was going down a slide and tried to do a gainer (I think) and smacked his head in the process and ended in the pool. Luckily, one of his best buddies, Ty, went in and rescued him since he didn’t come up. What a hero!!! We are so grateful . And so grateful for this great medical staff who does a great job! Pray for him to recover quickly if you could. —Laura his mom

This is my BFF’s son Ryan!

8/27/18 1pm; Thanks for being patient while waiting for updates everyone! Waiting to see the doctors, making sure Ryan does his breathing exercises, getting his meals, eating myself, etc, it’s not easy to keep up. Plus, I really need to sleep myself.
Anyways, he is progressing well and after all the doctors came in this morning we are just realizing how very lucky he is to be doing as well as he is! He’s only on .5 l of oxygen rn which is amazing!!!! His o2 sats remain in the mid 90’s. He walked for the first time without getting too fatigued and without his oxygen saturation dropping very low. We are going to try to have him walk again later today without any oxygen at all and see how that goes. At this point, his goals are just to be weaned from the oxygen and get moving more and wait and see how quickly his lungs deal with expelling the chlorinated water.
We thought he may be able to go home today, but with him still needing the oxygen, they don’t want to send him home with him needing that support. It’s looking like we’ll be able to go home tomorrow. He is back to eating and drinking without throwing up and. The dizziness is pretty much gone. Thanks again for all your support! My friend, Kyra, set up a go fund me if anyone feels like helping that way. We are so grateful for the many many prayers and there is not a doubt in my mind that those and the blessing he received are helping him recover so quickly!!!! . Some encouraging pics and videos...
